The company’s success is built on product innovation and quality along with an unrivalled understanding of the practical and daily working needs of the professional installer.

For the past decade, ADEY’s innovations have been responding to advances in modern heating system technology and the demands of industry professionals in the development of a comprehensive range of MagnaClean filters and premium chemicals.

This understanding of the heating sector and the practical needs of the installer stems from the company’s founder and inventor of the award winning MagnaClean technology, Chris Adey, a former British Gas apprentice.

Having introduced a totally new approach to boiler maintenance to the market, Chris has brought together an impressive senior management team comprising some of the industry's most experienced and respected individuals to continue the growth of the business throughout the UK and Europe.

Company growth

Following more than a decade of successful growth, ADEY has expanded its product portfolio to include the largest range of domestic and commercial filters available on the market.

The company has developed MagnaCleanse, a quicker and highly effective alternative to power-flushing along with a comprehensive range of high quality chemicals and ancillary products.

During the past 12 months, ADEY's research and development teams have spent more than 10,000 hours designing, testing and developing the latest product innovations. ADEY invests significant time and resource into ensuring that all our products are of exceptional quality and reliability and, crucially, that all of them are installer-friendly.

Tens of thousands of ADEY's filters are installed every month to maintain and protect central heating systems throughout Europe.

The company has emerged as one of the fastest growing businesses and brands in the heating sector and having established itself as the market leader in the UK is expanding its operations into overseas markets.

Filters

ADEY’s MagnaClean® filters are the No.1 selling filter on the market. The company invented the technology introducing magnetic filtration to the heating industry in 2003 and now produces the most extensive range of domestic and commercial filters available.

MagnaClean removes virtually 100% of damaging black iron oxide sludge from central heating systems. This prevents sludge and debris from clogging up pipework, plate heat exchangers and radiators, reducing efficiency and heat output and ultimately causing the breakdown of the boiler.

For an average three bedroom dwelling, installing a MagnaClean can reduce household heating bills and carbon emissions by up to 6% year on year. The filters are also proven to reduce system maintenance call-outs by up to 37% a year and help increase the life of the boiler beyond the industry expected lifespan of 12-15 years.

Adey Filters

Chemicals

ADEY launched a brand new range of chemicals in 2013 to deliver stronger, single dose, protection for up to 97% of the UK’s central heating systems. The new powerful MC1+ Protector and MC3+ Cleaner formulations advance ADEY’s existing MC range of chemical water treatment solutions.

Adey Chemicals

“We’ve spent a decade developing a filter that gives modern installers the best level of protection for their customers’ heating systems. Now, we’re doing the same with our chemicals. Having brought together the best technical expertise from the industry, we’ve created a new range from our own laboratory that we’re equally proud of,” explains Chris Adey, company founder and inventor of the MagnaClean filter.

“This has been driven by the changing needs of the installer and the wider industry, particularly with the escalating trend for longer and longer boiler warranties. It’s perfect for all professional installers and will provide higher levels of protection for the systems they install. Crucially, heating engineers’ customers will also benefit from the best quality protection available,” he added.

Our range of chemicals continues to grow and improve as we spend more time and dedicate more resource to ensuring they are the strongest and most effective of the market.

ADEY’s new MC1+ and MC3+ chemicals have undergone stringent testing well in excess of the BuildCert CIAS industry standard. The 500ml formulations go much further than any other products on the market, treating 125 litres or systems up to 15 single panel radiators and work in tandem with the company’s MagnaClean filters and MagnaCleanse flushing process.

Adey Lab

In 2013 ADEY opened a dedicated chemicals laboratory in Kent with a team of chemists focussed purely on product development and water testing for our customers.

The state of the art Research and Development facility is a BuildCert approved laboratory to test products for the Chemical Inhibitor Approval Scheme (CIAS).

The high-tech lab is one of just three in the UK to be approved by Build Cert meaning it is officially recognised to conduct and qualify products in accordance with CIAS test procedures, to a quality standard based on UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service).

Mo Jassal, ADEY’s chemical technical manager said: “Becoming an approved BuildCert test laboratory within six months of opening is a huge achievement and testament to the commitment of the team. It involved a lot of hard work behind the scenes to make sure all the procedures and quality management processes are in place and these all had to be written from scratch.

We also invested heavily in new equipment which needed to be validated and all our testing records were vigorously audited. We believe ADEY now has the most advanced customised test laboratory in the industry.”

Water testing

ADEY has developed what it believes is one of the most advanced and responsive central heating system water testing services in the industry.

This online service caters for the needs of local authorities, housing associations, utlities, contractors and professional installers. It has been developed in conjunction with many of our key industry partners to deliver a totally reliable and secure service tailored to specific individual needs by our own team of in-house developers.

As with everything ADEY does, we have tried to innovate and offer a first class customer service and set a standard for the industry.

Adey Water Testing

Online services

In addition to our award winning product ranges we also provide a fast and efficient water testing service to many customers. Submission of water tests is quick and simple through our online portal and results can be viewed quickly and easily by registered installers.

ADEY also works closely with several boiler manufacturers to provide a water testing service to their installers, ensuring the most professional installation job is completed every time and the water quality is sufficent to protect the boiler long term.

ADEY spares and parts

In 2014 ADEY launched a spares site to enable installers to purchase any spares and parts they may need for servicing MagnaClean products.

Parts and spares are available only through ADEY Professional Heating Solutions and the launch of the new site now enables simple and fast transactions to supply our installers quickly and efficiently.

Substantial discounts on all our parts and spares are available to ADEY Installers' Club members.

ADEY Installers’ Club

ADEY launched the Installers’ Club in 2011 and since then it has attracted a great following of loyal ADEY MagnaClean installers. Today, it is one of the largest clubs of its kind in the industry.

Installers’ Club members are first in line to hear about new product launches and can access all the product information, tips, special offers and resources such as videos and marketing materials that will support them in their day-to-day working lives.

Adey awards

The royal mark of business excellence for UK companies was among the prized Queen's Awards 2012 which have just been announced. The honour has been approved by Her Majesty following a recommendation from the Prime Minister that the business should receive a Queen's Award for Enterprise in Innovation.

ADEY Managing Director Kelvin Stevens expressed the delight of everyone connected with the business following the announcement.

“To receive a Queen's Award is not only a fantastic achievement for the business and everyone who works at ADEY, but also everyone connected with the company. We're all incredibly proud of this latest success, our biggest accolade to date,” he said.

“It's a tremendous honour and one of the most prestigious tributes for any business, especially so because it recognises the exceptional innovation within the company.

“ADEY's MagnaClean® technology represents one of the biggest advances in the central heating industry for many years. The contribution it's already making in maintaining and protecting central heating systems, reducing heating bills and carbon emissions in the UK is huge with approaching one-and-a-half million filters installed in households throughout Britain.

“If the Queen's Award helps us get these important messages out to the UK's 22 million households, it will be good news for the industry, consumers and the environment.”
